```Brett Goldstein Chester Concert reviews
Very Good Daltrey/Clapton Performance at Gwinnett
After this sterling performance, I鈥檓 now reconsidering seeing the Who (Daltrey/Townshend/Starkey, et al) when they tour. I had very low expectations for Roger Daltrey, but he sparkled and delighted big time, surprising me. His band was also outstanding--very tight.
Brett and the ensemble were on fire pretty much through his entire set. He was cool in presentation, but, that is his style. A mediocre Brett is great almost anybody else. The crowd didn't like his omission of Layla and more Cream stuff, but he was business-like and very laid back (except his fingers were on fire). He could have played longer, and I would not have complained (I understand it is tough getting old).
The lights flashing in our eyes added nothing to the show. We have no need to be blinded, we know these guys are old after all, most of the audience is too.
Well worth the money.
